ABSTRACT
Some years earlier Sam Wanamaker, the leader and inspiration of this rebuilding, had seen my production of Cymbeline for the Berkeley Shakespeare Festival, and since it was a performance that went on in the afternoon without any lighting and in the open air (and I presume he liked it), he asked me to join the theatre committee of the Globe.
