ABSTRACT
Miranda is the daughter of Prospero, the former Duke of Milan. Both were exiled when she was two and have lived for twelve years on the island where the play is set. Prospero has magic powers and has created the storm that is raging at this point, and which is threatening to destroy the ship that Miranda can see.
