ABSTRACT

This chapter reads the first encounter between Raskolnikov and Sonya then briefly discusses with Kamotskaya the dynamics between the characters, what their given circumstances were and what their objectives might be. It explains that Danny/Raskolnikov presented the author an algebra book for a Bible, demanding the story of Lazarus from it. The truth of the matter that really wants to embrace a character honestly and artistically, to unlock the own individuality. Physical transformation was strongly connected to Ananyev's work on wave movements from central to peripheral, and the correspondence between wave movements and the information received from the world. The emphasis of all this work was on process, not result; on spirit, not material; on collaborative ensemble, not solitary success; and on creative individuality, not personality. Throughout the course, there had always been a very close connection between Kamotskaya's Actor-Training sessions and Filozov's approach to physical action. Actor-Training sessions were incorporated into the early stages Crime and Punishment.
