ABSTRACT

It may appear to be rather back to front to be considering the creative process at this penultimate point in the book, yet arguably, there is a case for defining the material content, and the methods in which such content might be constructed to create a dance composition before attempting to analyse the complex concepts related to creativity and the processes involved. In discussing the latter, this Section makes reference to the practice of a student at third-year level in a degree course. At this stage it is assumed that the knowledge and skills detailed in Sections 1, 2 and 3 of this book have been studied and absorbed. It is therefore appropriate to present a detailed look into how such knowledge and skills might be embedded into the creative process at this later point.
