Dungeons and Dragons, a complex role-playing game manufactured by Tactical Studies Rules (TSR) of Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, has grossed millions of dollars since its creation in 1974. It was estimated to be the favorite pastime of more than 3,000,000 people at the peak of its popularity in the early 1980s. It became best known to rank-and-file Americans, however, due to the criticism it has received from various authority figures, particularly evangelicals.
