ABSTRACT

Children’s rights are an important theme within child law. The concept of children’s rights is given an international dimension by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, 1989. ALSTON, PARKER & SEYMOUR is an important edited collection of essays on children’s rights from different philosophical perspectives. It provides a variety of different interpretations of what it means for children to have “rights” and also includes essays which are sceptical of the utility of talking about children’s rights.
