ABSTRACT

The material on organizational communication selected here represents the multiplicity of views on communication in organizations and has been selected with a varied audience in mind. Some texts (SIGBAND and SIGBAND & BELL) have been selected as characteristic of traditional teaching materials, and highlight the developments in communication for management instruction since its introduction in business school curricula. The work by HATTERSLEY & McJANNET has been included as a valuable pedagogic text which follows a prescriptive and structured approach. Additional texts have been selected as comprehensive business communication textbooks, extensively used in undergraduate teaching of communication (TREECE & KLEEN), and as broader approaches to communication within the wider area of organizational behaviour (DAVIS & NEWSTROM).
