ABSTRACT

As SENCO you will be monitoring the attainment of pupils who are at School Action, School Action Plus and with Statements of Special Educational Needs in relation to the attainment of their peer group. There is currently a range of data within schools that will enable you to establish these patterns of attainment. These include:

end of key stage assessments in terms of National Curriculum levels;

number of pupils at School Action, School Action Plus, a year-on-year comparison;

number of pupils that do not make at least a one-level move in each of the core subjects over a key stage;

number of pupils who show an increase on standardised reading or maths tests; and

fixed-term exclusion rates.
