All staff should be aware of the Asthma Policy and refer to it when necessary.
The Asthma Register should be used to share accurate information to all staff.
Establish a clear referral route through the pastoral system to ensure teachers’ concerns are passed to the parents and the school nurse.
All classrooms should be adequately ventilated.
Pupils should be allowed to position themselves out of direct sunlight.
White boards should be used, rather than chalk boards, to avoid creation of dust.
Pupils should be given access to water in all lessons to help them deal with coughing episodes.
