Issues of self-esteem

Dyslexic adults have reported that for them, success is achieving their dream in terms of a career, being able to function as literate and numerate people and being able to accept positive criticism and deal with negative criticism. When asked what made this possible, responses were that they had parents and teachers who believed in them and as such they saw their dyslexia as a challenge rather than as a nightmare. Perhaps the answer is that they saw themselves as having learning differences rather than learning difficulties.
