Paul Keating, MR to a new Coalition Government (combining the Liberal and National Parties of Australia) led by the new Prime Minister the Hon. John Howard, MR Although the implications of the change for Australia’s overseas aid programme were still evolving at the time of writing (early 1996), some policy and programme commitments had already been announced.
