ABSTRACT
New Zealand’s budget for overseas development assistance (NZODA) has begun to climb slowly after a prolonged period of decline during the eighties and nineties. The commitment to increase the proportion of GNP allocated to NZODA and bring us closer to the OECD average is, according to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, dependent on continuing growth in the NZ economy.
