ABSTRACT
Around one-fifth of British aid is channelled through the Euro pean Community (EC). Britain’s contributions to European aid are much larger than its contributions to the World Bank. In 1986 they amounted to £223 million, 16.4 per cent of total aid; those to the World bank were £154 million, 11.3 per cent of total aid.
