ABSTRACT

Bioenergy systems from 10 kW to 10 MW have the potential to provide heat, electricity and cogeneration at the village or community scale or for small industrial use. They include primary conversion technologies that convert biomass into heat, gaseous or liquid products, together with secondary conversion technologies that convert these products into useful forms of energy. An overview of the relevant technologies is given in Figure 10.1.
