ABSTRACT
The thoughts presented here are based on my own experience in this country since 1961, as weH as my experience in Mexico with Mexicans who lived in this country and returned to Mexico. These experiences are limited; consequently I cannot generalize from them alone to expand my observations. I will resort to the experiences of other Chicanos with whom I have worked, and to the Chicano literature analyzed in national and international conferences.
