Jane is in the kitchen and about to make an entrance into the living room where the guests have just arrived when she notices she is still wearing her bedroom slippers.]
(She takes o ff her slippers, puts them on the table and scuttles round the kitchen looking for her shoes. She cannot find them. She picks up the slip pers and wipes the table with their fluffy side, where they have made a mark.)
