ABSTRACT
Enshrined in law – firstly Part III of the 1993 Education Act, and then re-affirmed in the 1996 Education Act – is the requirement that schools should have in place effective arrangements for managing children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Schools must also work closely with parents. This chapter offers ‘tried and tested’ approaches to encourage effective partnerships with parents.
