ABSTRACT

We recommend that the school sets aside a number of staff development days to work on behaviour management but we also realise, given the considerable demands on school time, this is not always possible. Allocating a number of staff development days throughout the process gives the message to staff that the school is serious about its commitment to improving pupil behaviour. The main activities that constitute the first day on policy development and/or review of the existing policy could, however, be carried out in twilight sessions if this was thought to be more realistic.
