ABSTRACT

At Piper Hill, Food and Nutrition was originally developed and taught as part of our Personal and Social Education curriculum. This was changed to follow National Curriculum guidelines so that pupils could study Food Technology as part of Food and Nutrition, thus expanding our earlier curriculum. Since 1997, Food and Nutrition has been developed at INSET teachers’ meetings and consequently rewritten by the Food Technology coordinator. The subject is now timetabled and taught by designated staff as part of our Food Technology curriculum. Two of our staff have attended a Food Hygiene and Handling course.
