ABSTRACT

Considerable steps forward have been taken in the past 20 years to ensure that the needs of people with PWS are recognised by the statutory authorities and the community at large, but there is still much more to be done. There has been increasing interest in PWS-specific group homes for those who wish to leave the parental home, and a few are now in operation. Nevertheless, there should still be choices for those who do not wish to live with others with PWS, and these will need extra support.
