ABSTRACT
Ruth chose a book from the shelf by pointing. She held the book correctly and began to turn the pages. She vocalised as she looked at each page and occasionally pushed the book towards another child. She pointed to the pictures and vocalised but used no recognisable words. When she had finished she shouted to attract attention and pointed to the shelf for another book.
