ABSTRACT

Closer analysis of the information provided by the cities involved in the CITIES project has led to the conclusion that the following policy areas largely make up the urban energy-environmental policy ‘space’:

urban energy supply systems (UESS);

urban waste management (UWM);

urban transport systems (UTS);

information, communication and marketing (ICM);

management of the municipal building and vehicle stock (MBVS);

development of integrative urban energy-environmental concepts (IUEC).
