ABSTRACT
This chapter documents VanCity's move toward improving and extending its reporting of its operations, financial performance, and corporate social role activities. The process of increasing the credit union's disclosure level and accountability started in October 1992, with the planning of the 1992 annual report. At VanCity, research and discussion about social accounting continue today through the organization's Annual Report working group which reports both to VanCity's executive management group and the audit committee of the board.
