ABSTRACT
In the last two chapters I have reviewed the growth and free trade paradigms in some detail, though hopefully in language simple enough to permit interested non-economists to follow the arguments. My personal contribution in those areas is essentially synthetic and critical, rather than original research. This chapter serves a similar function, but also introduces some new, previously unpublished, research results.
