ABSTRACT
This chapter analyzes the postwar changes in the nominal and real prices of natural gas, electricity, and water. In order to take into account improvements in the efficiency of domestic appliances, we estimate the price per unit of service provided by these appliances. We discuss major developments in the amounts of waste generated by households, and the costs of waste removal. Finally, we summarize recent developments in private car ownership and fuel use.
