ABSTRACT

Freshwater resources are scarce in Poland. In fact, the quantity available – 1500 cubic metres per capita – is one of the lowest in Europe. This is mostly due to a low level of precipitation. The limited amount of surface water is responsible for 80 per cent of the water supply.
