ABSTRACT
Location: Capital and principal port of the province of Ravenna, in the Emilia-Romagna region of northeastern Italy, about sixty-five miles northeast of Florence. The city is on a low-lying plain near the confluence of the Ronco and Montone Rivers, six miles inland from the Adriatic Sea, with which it is connected by canal to the harbor and seaside resort of Marina di Ravenna, formerly the Porto Corsini.
