ABSTRACT
Location: Ferrara lies in the heart of the fertile Po Valley; the provinces of Ferrara and Padua meet, marking the northern edge of the Emilia-Romagna region and the beginning of the Veneto region. The city of Ferrara is forty-four miles northwest of Ravenna and forty-five miles northeast of Modena. Bologna is just twenty-nine miles south of Ferrara and Venice is fifty-five miles northeast of the city.
