ABSTRACT
In northwest Iran, near the southeast corner of the Caspian Sea; two hundred and sixty-seven miles from Tehran and three hundred and ten miles from Mashhad. It is separated from the Caspian Sea by the Alborz Mountains, and is on the northern edge of the extensive central salt marsh.
