ABSTRACT
It is at the building envelope that the interrelationship between the given external conditions and the required internal conditions are determined. The building's envelope must respond to a wide and varying range of external conditions. The most important element in hot climates is solar radiation heat gain on the building envelope and the subsequent release of heat by radiation from the inside surfaces towards the occupants of the building.
