Ocean energy

Unless we develop and use marine renewable energy resources, we are unlikely to be able to meet our energy needs without continuing to burn increasing quantities of fossil fuels; land-based renewable energy resources are unlikely to be able to meet more than a small proportion of future energy needs. This is the main argument for investing in these new and so far little developed energy solutions. However, marine renewable energy resources are generally more costly and difficult to access than the land-based options (which is why experience with them so far has been quite limited).
