ABSTRACT

THIS IS NOT the place to review the Japan Festival which took place in the United Kingdom in 1991. This was covered in reports in the Japan Society's Proceedings Nos. 118 (Autumn 1991) and 119 (Spring 1992), but this volume would not be a fair summary of Japan Experiences if it failed to mention this important event in post-war Anglo-Japanese relations and the contacts which developed in the course of preparation of the festival. It was a major event in the history of the Society as it marked our centenary.
