ABSTRACT

The physical environment of an Acquisition through Creative Teaching Approach class is, to the extent possible, aesthetically pleasant, attractive, colorful, comfortable, and engaging to the senses. The physical environment is certainly an important contributor to the psychological environment, but it is the teacher who most profoundly affects the suggestive atmosphere of a class. Every teacher is an active and potent carrier of suggestion–whether s/he is conscious of that fact or not. The Acquisition through Creative Teaching teacher becomes highly sensitive to this fact, so that his/her impact may become consciously purposeful and constructive. Georgi Lozanov, too, speaks repeatedly of the need to assist students to transcend their limitations, and he stresses the need for the de-suggestive/suggestive process which can help students replace limiting images and attitudes with liberating ones.
