ABSTRACT

A careful examination of the newly available documents concerning the Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee shows that they do not refute my initial research. My basic assumptions and conceptual approach seem to remain valid. However, a number of issues, discussed briefly or not at all, in my original study, now become significant, and some details, previously taken for granted, have been modified. In addition, whereas my former study of the JAFC concluded with the liquidation of the Committee in 1948, information we now possess fully reveals the tragic fate of its leaders and associates in the years 1949–1952.
