ABSTRACT
The conversation was held at the Embassy. Mountbatten said that the British have decided to start building
special combat machines which can operate in the mountains and on snow-covered land. The British Staff plans to deliver these machines by air to Norway next winter in order to conduct operations in the German rear and destroy important objectives. They plan to destroy 50 per cent of electric power stations in Norway using these machines. In addit ion, it might be possible to deliver aero-sleighs to the Carpathians f rom where they could penetrate into Romania in order to demol ish the oil-f ields in Ploesti. He, Mountbatten, believed that the demolit ion of oilfields in Ploesti can be done more effectively using aero-sleighs than planes.
