Hull said that any reference to the second front, as suggested by Molotov, should be submitted to the President for consideration. He, Hull, found the rest of the additions acceptable, apart from mentioning his own participation. He would not like to see his name in the communique, because he had in fact not taken part in the conversations, but also out of courtesy towards Secretary of War Stimson and to [Navy Secretary] Knox who did not take part in the talks.
