ABSTRACT

Coordination and control in education are the central topics of this chapter. Section 4.2 of this chapter deals with the question of what these concepts entail and which means can be used to achieve coordination. In section 4.3 an in-depth look is taken at the characteristics and extent of coordination within educational organizations; three different perspectives are presented. Section 4.4 is dedicated to the relationship between coordination and school effectiveness. This chapter ends with a summary in section 4.5.
