ABSTRACT
On a visit to Vienna in 1927 I was taken to a dance performance of the Bodenwieser Ensemble at the Academy Theater which is adjacent to the Vienna State Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Two outstanding dance themes were received by the audience with enthusiasm: Demon Machine and The Bells. The program also included dances which, to me, were the expression of true dancing: flowing, light, at one with the music.
