ABSTRACT
Is tolerance of nonconformists scattered at random over the American map? Or do we find certain areas which have a larger proportion of intolerant people than others? If so, where?
The answers are not obvious. I t would be an interesting exercise sometime to learn what kind of evidence is used to make guesses about regional distributions of attitudes.
