ABSTRACT
U P TO this point , this book has been about human beingsspecifically, about Americans and about psychiatrists. I t has been shown that two types of organized information must be added to psychiatric theory i n order to understand the theories and operations of psychiatrists-namely, an understanding of the cultural matr ix w i t h i n which the psychiatrist operates and an understanding of the nature of interaction between persons.
