ABSTRACT
Regardless of how favorable light and moisture conditions may be, plant growth ceases when the temperature drops below a certain minimum value or exceeds a certain maximum value. Between these limits, there is an optimum temperature at which growth proceeds with greatest rapidity. These three points are known as cardinal temperatures.
