ABSTRACT

The highly bureaucratic oversight system, which had long constrained the development of the nonprofit sector in China, made a significant breakthrough. In China, the nonprofit sector consists of three types of organizations: nonprofit groups, nonprofit organizations, and foundations. Nonprofit group is a common term in Chinese political discourse that refers to groups of people working together on a common activity, interest, or goal. The term nonprofit organizations refers to organizations that use nonstate assets and are formed by corporations, individuals, or groups. The three most active types of nonprofit organizations are educational, social service, and health organizations. Foundations are nonprofit juristic persons who utilize the assets denoted by natural person, juristic person, or other organizations to improve the commonwealth. Changes in public-management concepts have given the nonprofit sector a dominant position in the field of social services. The promotion of innovation in public management has stimulated great conversion about public management concepts.
