ABSTRACT
After 15 years as director of an alcohol treatment program in New York City, Enoch Gordis was appointed director of the US National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) in 1986. He met that responsibility with outstanding success. In 2003 he was a recipient of an honorary Jellinek Award.
