ABSTRACT
Questionnaires—or surveys, as they are sometimes called—are the tools researchers use to measure the variables of interest; they measure what we want to know. Questionnaires ask people to answer questions or reply to statements based on:
What people are—their characteristics such as age, gender, ethnicity
How people think—their beliefs and attitudes
How people act—their behaviors
What people know—their knowledge
