ABSTRACT
The Mamose Region (sometimes called Momase) includes the provinces along the northern coast of New Guinea: West Sepik, East Sepik, Madang, Morobe. Its name derives from parts of the names Madang, Morobe, and Sepik. W i t h 31 percent of the national area, it supports 16 percent of the population.
