ABSTRACT

I take much delight in reciprocal communications. I love to exchange sentiments particularly on spiritual subjects, & on things that respect our future welfare, beyond the things of time; when it can be done in a way to cheer, to enlighten to strengthen & encourage each other in the great & trying work of self-denial, & to ameliorate the rigors & toils of our hazardous journey thro this world. Some characters despise religious conversation & are disgusted with any one’s being what they call religious, I consider such as being natural or carnally minded. “Where the treasure is, there the heart will be” & “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.” {Matthew 6:19–21.}
