ABSTRACT
I am now in the 60th year of my age. I was 15 when I first became acquainted with Mother Ann, in 1781. When I heard the gospel preached by Mother & the Elders, I was willing to receive and obey it; for I have suffered much at the thoughts of being forever lost and separated from God; and I could find no way to escape condemnation. I often thought I would set out and live a better life, and often tried it; but I could find no victory over evil. This convinced me that I had not gained any thing, but was the same as before.
