ABSTRACT
In this chapter, I describe the personality characteristics associated with managerial incompetence. I begin with two real-life examples to set the stage. I then describe some popular efforts to understand managerial incompetence. Finally, I outline the key research on the topic of derailment. Chapter 7 concerns ways to deal with flawed leadership.
