ABSTRACT

YOUNG horses’ stables should be paved with small, round cobblestones from the countryside, to prevent the feet and hooves being impaired by a soft floor, which they reckon is detrimental to thoroughbreds. To stop them becoming very ill, especially with gout, 2 their heads should be washed, not curried with a comb, since these are made of bony material.
