ABSTRACT
Fences are frequently regarded as a cheap or short-term alternative to walls, but they have many advantages over solid walls excluding the financial benefits. The advantages of a well-designed fence include the following points:
• Open fences form an inconspicuous barrier where the eye travels through the barrier rather than being completely stopped by it - the most fully developed form of this is the ha-ha fence.
